A new chapter, officially in the industry

It is pretty safe to announce that I finished my study program (graduated!) and got a job offer. So in this post, I want to have some reflection and ideas for my future.

Reflections

4.5 Years at HCMUT

It is not a glory journey that I can flex proudly. But I don’t mind to share (if you ask). But at the end of the day, if you ask me, I will tell that I am proud of myself and what I got through.

There are days I was irresponsible for the group assignments, just lied still on my bed and did nothing.

There are days I grinded through the nights and be excited by small achievements.

There are days I thought I found the way.

There are days I lost in the mist.

But in the light of the day, I have grew up through the journey.

If I can have another chance, I will:

  • Go out more, make friends with energetic and extrovert people (so they can drag me out of my bed)
  • Don’t let the deadline last minute, grind bit by bit everyday
  • Do more pet projects and enhance my knowledge in DSA, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems,…

About Finding Job

I have to say that I was quite overconfident after my intership at Bosch but everything is harder than I thought. I was really desparate if you wonder.

With the recommend letter I got at Bosch and the exciting working with KG, I almost believe the job finding would be easy, but the reality slapped my face.

My first priority was AI/ML Engineer, but I barely got any feedbacks. At the time I applied, there was no room for freshers, and the profile of mixing between Embedded Systems and RAG seems not so exciting.

The AI bubble, the market reality and my disadvantages in this field made me had to change the tactic and created another CV for Embedded Systems. And voila, yes, I got an offer in Embedded Sytems (and for dramatic effect, I will outsource at Bosch).

If I can do better, I will:

  • Practice my English speaking and listening more, specifically with Indian accent.
  • Review more knowledge important to Embedded Systems, for example: protocols, C Programming Language,…
  • Think more before answer questions

Expectations

Self-study for the life!

It’s hard to maintain self-study when my habit routines are all destroyed and there is no real deadlines. But I hope I can continue my knowledge chasing adventure. Why?

For realistic view, my knowledge in my field has a lot of space for improvement. I want to be better to have better… salary! Too many hobbies to maintain.

For a more romantic view, studying in many fields help me extending my world view, to have a kinder heart and an empathy soul. Study for its own sake.

More n More

At work, I hope I can get out of my comfort zone, to show my true color :sparkles: and socialize with other teammates.

After work, I hope I can maintain a healthy lifestyle and improve my survival skills.

Last words,

It’s not only “hope” or “wish”, we need a plan to get into actions and consistently with it.

May my Lord Elrond blesses me.
