Mar 2026 Reading Log
Hi Everyone!
I broke my precious Kobo Clara Colour in February and can barely focus on reading on papers again, so that led to we don’t have a post for last month.
In March, the pressure at work makes me feel so stressed that I bought another ereader to relieve the tension, despite had to borrow some money from friend. I think it’s a reckless spending but don’t regret a bit.
C’est la vie. In this month, I finished Thất lạc cõi người (No Longer Human) by Osamu Dazai, Days at Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa and Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
4. Thất lạc cõi người - Osamu Dazai
I don’t like this book, the main character is just… hopeless. I know it’s the theme of the book, or the cold reality of its author, but still, it doesn’t give me the sense of a deeper philosophy conflict. It is kind of shallow hopeless, swallow the person inside it but people outside (like me) can never figure out.

5. Days at Morisaki Bookshop - Satoshi Yagisawa
I don’t know how but I asked ChatGPT to recommend some slice-of-life books. I feel my work has enough pressure on my mind. And I think it’s a great reading. It ignites the reading streak inside me. The start is actually kind of dramatic, but not toxic. The story is a peaceful revival without soap drama revenge like the zhihu short stories I usually engrossed in.

5. Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir
I don’t know where the idea came from, but I wanted to read sci-fi again. I miss Timeline by Michael Crichton, but when trying to re-read it, I feel exhausted. The knowledge desire didn’t ignite this time. And the movie Project Hail Mary is trending, so I want to the book a try. I have read The Martian of Andy Weir before, so I know the quality and expectation can be set. And I think it’s a worthy adventure to onboard. The ideas are neatly presented, it is what people called show don’t tell. The book has space for deep inner philosophy, but the author didn’t choose to develop that, I think it’s the only pity.

In April, you can expect me read more, maybe more slice of life books?
